Overview

DCI

Data Sources

A new DCI is published each spring for full surveys taking place during the following academic year. DCI's for preliminary and provisional accreditation surveys are published as needed.

DCIs for survey visits taking place in academic years 2016-17 and 2015-16 are available for download below.

The DCI is occasionally updated after publication to reflect changed or newly-available data sources. These changes are noted in the DCI documents themselves and in the DCI "Update Summary" for each respective DCI year listed below.

Accreditation Standards Self-Evaluation Tool (ASSET)

Schools with survey visits for full accreditation in academic year 2015-16 may choose to complete the DCI online using the AAMC Accreditation Standards Self-Evaluation Tool (ASSET) OR to complete the DCI within the Word document provided above. Schools are asked to inform LCME staff which format they plan to submit (please send an email to lcmesubmissions@aamc.org).

Schools with survey visits for full accreditation in academic year 2016-17 will complete the DCI online using the AAMC Accreditation Standards Self-Evaluation Tool (ASSET). A version of the DCI will be available in Word format and will match the information in ASSET but cannot be submitted to the LCME.

ASSET is a user-based system and all schools with survey visits for full accreditation in academic year 2015-16 have at least one ASSET Administrator who has been given access to ASSET. In all applicable cases, this individual was the person responsible for attending an ASSET training session. ASSET administrators are entrusted with the responsibility of adding additional administrators and users. The Staff Visit Coordinator and Faculty Accreditation Lead previously identified to the LCME are encouraged to contact the AAMC via asset@aamc.org if they need ASSET administrator privileges.
